Daniel J. Sanji, BS
Lab Manager
Daniel Sanji was the inaugural Lab Manager of HIGHER Lab. Daniel graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2022, with a B.S. in Psychology and History, and a minor in Asian American Studies. During his undergraduate studies, Daniel worked as a research assistant in Brauer Group Lab with Dr. Markus Brauer, where he published a systematic review of conservation psychology research with PhD student Sophia Winkler-Schor. He also worked as student staff for the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Student Center for three years.
Daniel spent two transformative years in HIGHER Lab working with Dr. Sa-kiera Hudson to create a social psychology laboratory centered on intersectionality, group hierarchies, and emotions. Daniel won the NSF GRFP Fellowship in 2024 with his project, Ambivalent Stereotypes of Asian Americans and their Hierarchy-Enhancing Function in US Society, with Dr. Hudson’s mentorship. Daniel will continue his research in the Social Psychology PhD Program at Northwestern University with Dr. Michael Kraus and Dr. Sylvia Perry starting in Fall 2024! We wish him success in all of his future endeavors!
Lilli Wagner, MSc
Visiting Scholar
Lilli Wagner was a Visiting Research Scholar from the University of Bonn, where she completed her Master’s in Psychology. At UC-Berkeley, Lilli worked with Dr. Hudson on a project investigating intergroup political schadenfreude through an online decision making game.
Teresa Campbell BA
Lab Manager
Teresa Campbell graduated from UC Berkeley in 2024 with a B.A. in Global Studies, where she concentrated in Peace and Conflict Studies, Justice and Ethics, and Spanish. As an undergraduate, she joined the inaugural cohort of HIGHER Lab and contributed to three projects that examined how people overestimate racial economic progress and perceptions of threat linked to demographic shifts in the United States.After graduation, Teresa became the second Lab Manager of HIGHER Lab. Under the guidance of Dr. Sa-Kiera Hudson, she led a project on how policy changes influence social norms, attitudes, and behaviors toward people who are unhoused.Currently, Teresa collaborates with Dr. April Edwell at UCSF as a research affiliate, helping design a new de-escalation paradigm for pediatric settings that draws on a design-justice framework. In October 2025, Teresa will move to Madrid, Spain, where she will work in education. While abroad, she will continue her research collaborations with both UC Berkeley and UCSF, carrying forward her commitment to using research as a tool for social change. We wish her the absolute best on her journey!
